Register your Garden

Are you ready to make a difference?

Our birds, pollinators, and native plants are suffering from habitat loss, invasion by non-native species and the effects of climate change. In this step-by-step certification program we provide you with the tools that you can use to help support wildlife in your own backyard, in your neighborhood and in our world.

There are two paths to certification. You can follow our step-by-step guide on your own or you can begin by scheduling a free garden visit with members of our team. Either way, please begin by registering your garden.

When you take your first step toward restoring native habitat in your yard, you become eligible to display a “Nature in My Backyard” sign, proudly marked with a “Garden in Progress” sticker.

To order your sign, click here.

Garden visits are scheduled May through October, with signups available in mid-March.

If you live outside of Cuyahoga County, please email us at natureinmybackyard@clevelandaudubon.org to register for a visit.
